Why call a designer before
contacting a builder? Compare and contrast this
barn with the
Timber
Frame Barn. Both
barns are built upon the same basic foundation, with the same Main
Floor Plan, but each represents a completely different look.
Some people will like both, others just one, and some
neither. Tastes vary. And that is why I emphasis
the importance of working with
a designer first.. Because style matters.
Your style matters. And that is something that most
builders will not prioritize in the same way as will a good designer or
architect. And what are the important qualities of a good
designer. Here are three. 1. Knowledge of
construction. 2. The capacity for creativity. 3.
The ability to listen and communicate. The latter
to include communicating both with the client during the design
process, but also with the guys in the field through the
construction documentation
(blueprints) produced.
Now, about this barn. The stable level consists of 4 stalls,
a wide center
aisle, a large Tack Room with stairs to the second level, a
Laundry/Powder Room, a Wash Stall and a Grain Room. The
Second Floor Level has 2,000 square feet of living area, with 2
bedrooms and 2 full baths. This combination of size and just
2 bedrooms makes for very generous room sizes and plenty of
closetry. Like the Timber Frame, this barn has a see through
fireplace.
Additionally, a spacious kitchen with island, an office area,
a whirlpool tub in the Master Bath, a built-in book and trophy case,
wood cathedral ceilings, two large decks and lots of glass.
